Good value for the price since they last for at least 23 yrs. That's how old the others were that I had to replace.
I would definitely recommend this product.

Dia Compe Brake Lever Hoods Black Pair Non Aero
This product is the best non aero hood for the price available to consumers. Niagra Cycle was very helpful with communication, fast delivery, and packed items well for shipping. They even wrote me a thank you email for my purchase. Kudos to Niagra Cycle and Amazon.com for providing such great service and quality.
Just what I needed July 6, 2009 sewbean (Los Angeles, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Having an older road bike from the 80's, I needed to replace the aging brake hoods. These fit over my brake handles perfectly. In addition, they were fairly priced even with the shipping fees (total $12) and arrived faster than estimated. My LBS quoted anywhere from $15-20 for a pair of these, which I would have had to special order and pay for shipping as well. And auctions on eBay.com weren't really priced much better than Niagara Cycle Works in general.
Like the previous review, these brake hoods do not have "Dia Compe" on the them, which I found a bit disappointing. Instead, they were branded as "Cane Creek," which appear to be the most prevalent brand for those old-school brake hoods. They work fairly well: moderately cushy, very gripped, easy to install, and come in a variety of colors; I've seen them even in hot pink online!
All in all, an excellent product with very fair pricing and fast shipping from Niagara Cycle Works.
Great to buy from September 2, 2009 R. Pierce No problems whatsoever. Oh, color is brown (as mentioned) not tan, but for me not enough to worry about
A-OK June 21, 2008 Stringfella (Illinois) This is the Cane Creek replacement for old Dia-Compe non-aero brake hood covers. The cover looks and fits fine, but the hand rest area is not nearly as soft/thick/cushy as the original product. When I ordered the product, the picture had the Dia-Compe logo/name on the item and I was a bit disappointed the item I received was labelled Cane Creek. The correct picture has since been put in the ad (at least on Niagara's site).
